What guests love about Fiena, in their own words

We are a family-run Italian cafe, bar and restaurant at 4 Medway Court on Judd Street, a few minutes' walk from King's Cross. We love reading our reviews, because they tell us what people remember once they have walked back out onto Judd Street. So rather than tell you what we think is special, we have gathered what guests have actually written about us on Google and elsewhere, quoted briefly and linked back to the original.

A welcome people remember

The thing guests mention most often is not a dish at all: it is the people. Reviews regularly name members of our front-of-house team and the kitchen, and a surprising number mention the owner or the chef stopping by the table. Nick, who ate with us alone on a work trip, put it simply: The owner is serving with a big smile. The chef checked how the food was. (Nick v. H., Google review).

Others talk about the tone of the service as much as the speed. Nasipa wrote that The service was warm and helpful without being intrusive. (Nasipa E., Google review). That balance is exactly what we aim for, whether you are in for a flat white or a three-course dinner.

The pasta that gets talked about

Linguine Fiena

Our namesake pasta is linguine with chicken, mushrooms, garlic and cream, and it has a small fan club. Robin did not hold back:

“The Linguini Fiena was honestly one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had.”

Robin W., Google review, February 2026

James, who came in for dinner on a Friday night, kept it brief: I had pasta fiena and the cheesecake. Both very good. (James S., Google review).

Carbonara, bolognese and seafood linguine

The classics get plenty of love too. Our spaghetti carbonara is made with smoked pancetta, egg yolk and parmesan, and Neil stopped by for a quick lunch and found that Food was great, arrived quick, service was lovely. (Neil C., Google review). Derek, who visits with Kim before the theatre whenever they are in London, wrote: Food of the highest quality with my carbonara being one of the best I’ve tasted! (Derek P., Tripadvisor review). Katelyn's verdict covered two of our favourites at once: Best aperol spritz and spaghetti bolognaise I've had in a while! (Katelyn S., Google review). You will find the full pasta list, from linguine vongole to ravioli ricotta and spinach, on our main menu, with gluten-free penne available for every pasta dish.

Pizza, and a crust people finish

From midday our pizza list runs from a simple Margherita with fior di latte and basil to the Diavola with pepperoni and spicy nduja, the Buffalo, and Pizza al pollo with goat cheese and caramelised onion. The crust is what people single out. One guest wrote: My partner and I had pizzas and they are absolutely delicious. The dough is amazing. (Google review). An OpenTable diner described The pizza was perfectly baked with a crispy crust and generous, fresh toppings (OpenTable review).

And from someone who had just come back from Naples, the kind of compliment we treasure: I was in Napoli last week and the food wasn't far off from the real deal. (John M., Google review).

Spritz o'clock, inside or out

The bar opens for drinks from 10:30, and our spritzes (Aperol, Hugo, Campari and limoncello) turn up in reviews almost as often as the food. Kiley's advice for a sunny day: I'd also recommend sitting outside and enjoying a cocktail here. She added that Jan makes the best hugo spritz's. (Kiley R., Google review). The full list of cocktails, Italian wines and mocktails is on our drinks menu.

Coffee, walk-ins and a calm spot near the stations

Mornings start at 8am with proper Italian coffee and a breakfast and brunch menu served until 2pm. Loredana summed up her two visits: The coffee is excellent, the staff are friendly and professional (Loredana S., Google review).

We keep space for walk-ins wherever we can, and guests notice. Were able to walk straight in and got a table for 4. (M. S., Google review). Plenty of people also find us on the way to or from a train. Celia called us A hidden gem not far from Kings Cross or Euston (Celia F., Google review), and Anastasia came Straight from Kings Cross to this cozy warm food in December, exactly what was needed (Anastasia B., Google review).

What we take from the rest

Not every visit is perfect, and a few reviews tell us so, from service that felt stretched on a busy night to a breakfast plate that was not quite right. We would always rather hear about it. If something is not right during your visit, please tell us at the table or get in touch through our contact page afterwards. We would much rather put it right while you are still with us.

If you have already visited, thank you. Every review, whether it is on Tripadvisor, Google or OpenTable, helps the next person find their way down Judd Street.

Come and write your own

We are open every day from 8am, with breakfast until 2pm and our full Italian menu from midday. Tables for up to 8 can be reserved online, and walk-ins are always welcome when we have space. Book your table at Fiena, have a look at the menu before you come, and we look forward to welcoming you.
