A good date-night restaurant needs a room you're happy to sit in for a few hours, food you can share, and a drinks list with something for the toast. At Fiena, our family-run Italian restaurant at 4 Medway Court, Judd Street, London WC1H 9QX, we'd like to think we have all three. Ayub described the room as perfect for both a casual meal and a nicer night out
(Ayub, Google review). Here's how we'd plan an evening for two.
Start at the bar
Our drinks menu has four spritzes (Aperol, Campari, Hugo and limoncello), the French 47 with gin, lemon and prosecco, plus a Negroni, a Bramble, a Cosmopolitan and an espresso martini. Every cocktail uses a 50ml spirit measure. If one of you isn't drinking, there are four mocktails, including the virgin pornstar martini and the Fiena Signature. Kiley's tip: I'd also recommend sitting outside and enjoying a cocktail here.

Share a starter
Sharing works well for two: the caprese with buffalo mozzarella and heritage tomato, pan-fried scallops in lemon butter, tiger prawns with garlic and white wine, or simply the cheesy garlic bread. Order two and split them.
Pasta, pizza or the grill
For mains, it depends on the couple. Normof's evening was simple: My partner and I had pizzas and they are absolutely delicious.
(Normof, Google review). Others go for one pasta each, maybe the linguine frutti di mare and the Linguine Fiena, so there's something to swap. If you'd rather have a proper main, the whole grilled sea bream, the lamb cutlets and the saltimbocca alla Romana are all on the main menu.
A bottle to share
The wine list leans Italian. For white, there's Gavi di Gavi and Albariño. If you want red, the Pinot Nero has fragrant red berries, the Nero d'Avola from Sicily is full-bodied, and for a special occasion there's Barolo or the Fidora Amarone. Prosecco Axilu DOCG Asolo is there if it's a celebration.
One dessert, two spoons
The dessert menu was made for sharing. The soufflé al cioccolato has a liquid chocolate centre. There are also profiteroles with Chantilly cream, tiramisu, a vanilla cheesecake with forest fruit sauce, and an affogato if you want coffee at the same time.
“The food and drinks were delicious and beautifully presented, with an amazing decor and chilled and relaxing atmosphere”

The room
Inside, there are olive banquettes, marble tables, a checkerboard floor at the bar and a large framed portrait on the wall. Our post on the room has more about it. John found it really cosey and enjoyable
(John M., Google review), and there's no dress code.
